Lilac Cottage is in Redmire, which is mid-way up Wensleydale. It's part of a small row of stone cottages built together. You've got your own garden, which is enclosed.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's warm, it's clean, and everything works. It's comfortable.
The living room has a multi-fuel burner. It's nice to have on in the evening. There's a garage you can use to store bikes if you've brought them.
Redmire itself is small. There's a village pub that does food, about a five minute walk away. It's fine. For a bigger shop, Leyburn is about four miles. That's a proper market town with butchers, bakers, that sort of thing.
You're right in the middle of walking country here. The Pennine Way isn't far. For a day out, Bolton Castle is very close. The Yorkshire Dales National Park site has good walking maps. Aysgarth Falls are about a fifteen minute drive. Hawes, where the Wensleydale cheese creamery is, is about twenty minutes up the dale.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the drive. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
