The Farmhouse is in West Witton, in Coverdale. It's a proper stone house right on the edge of the village, looking out over the fields. You share the front lawn with The Barn next door, but you've got your own garden space at the back and side.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. Two bathrooms, one has a roll-top bath and a separate shower. The beds are all good size and comfortable. One of the bedrooms shares a 'Jack and Jill' bathroom with another, which just means the bathroom has doors to both rooms. It works fine.
The kitchen is big, with an island and a range cooker. It's where everyone tends to end up. The living room has a wood burner and doors out to the patio. There's a separate dining room if you want it.
You can bring up to two dogs. There are two paddocks right across the road which are handy for letting them run.
The village has a shop, a post office, and tea rooms, all a short walk. The Wensleydale Heiffer restaurant is well-regarded and just down the road. For walking, you can start right from the door.
Aysgarth Falls and the Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes are about a 15 minute drive. Middleham with its castle and racehorse gallops is about 10 minutes away. Leyburn, for the market and more shops, is about a 20 minute drive.
Facilities: it's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well equipped. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, all bedding and towels included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. Parking for two cars on the drive.
