The Farmhouse
The Farmhouse is in West Witton, in Wensleydale. It's a proper old stone house in the village, not isolated. You can walk to the shop and the tea rooms.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms upstairs, two bathrooms. One bathroom has a roll top bath and a separate shower. Two of the bedrooms share a bathroom between them, it’s a Jack and Jill setup so you can lock both doors. All the bedrooms are big and look out over the dale.
Downstairs, the kitchen is a proper farmhouse kitchen with a big table and a range cooker. It’s the main room. There's a separate living room with a wood burner and doors out to the patio. You can eat in the kitchen or in the dining room.
Outside, there’s a patio at the back with a table. You look out onto a paddock with horses. There’s also a lawn at the front, which is shared with the house next door if it’s occupied. If you’re bringing dogs, there are two paddocks right across the road you can use for them.
The stairs are steep and a bit narrow. They’re original.
The village has a good restaurant, The Wensleydale Heifer, which is a short walk away. You can walk or cycle straight from the door into the dale.
It’s about a ten minute drive to Aysgarth Falls. Hawes, where the Wensleydale Creamery is, is about fifteen minutes. Middleham, with its castle and racehorses, is roughly ten minutes in the other direction. Leyburn is about fifteen minutes.
The house has a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. It’s rated 5 Star.
