West Burn Cottage

West Burn Cottage is in Newbiggin, which is a small hamlet near Bishopdale. It's an end terrace, converted from an old barn. It sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable.

The living room looks out over fields at the front and the back. There's a woodburner. The TV has Freesat. The kitchen is modern, granite worktops, dishwasher.

The bedroom has a super kingsize bed with a memory foam mattress. Some people love that, some find it too soft, so it's worth knowing. Downstairs there's a boot room and a utility space with a washing machine. The shower room has underfloor heating and the shower itself is good and powerful.

Outside the back is a gravelled courtyard. It faces south so you get the sun. The view from there is really good, just open fields. It's quiet.

The local pub is about a three minute walk. They do food. The village shop is about two miles away in West Burton. For a bigger shop, Hawes is a ten minute drive. It's a proper market town with butchers, a cheese shop, cafes. Leyburn is about twenty minutes.

You can walk straight from the door. Bishopdale itself is good for that. Thoralby and West Burton are nice to wander around. For a day out, the Yorkshire Dales National Park website has walking routes. National Trust Yorkshire has places like Braithwaite Hall nearby.

Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car. WiFi. No pets.
