Stable Cottage is in West Burton. It's one of four holiday properties in the grounds of the main house where we live. You get to use the big garden, which has a couple of ponds and a waterfall, and there's a bit of river at the bottom for fishing if you want it.
It sleeps four people in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which is about right. It's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The front door is on the ground floor and everything is on one level, which is useful.
The village green is just down the lane, maybe a five minute walk. There's a shop and a pub that does food. The waterfall, Burton Force, is right there in the village. It's a quiet place, no through traffic.
For walking, you can start from the village and be up on the fells quite quickly. Hawes and Leyburn are each about ten miles away. Hawes has the Wensleydale Creamery and the Black Sheep Brewery. Leyburn has a market. Bolton Castle is nearby too.
If you've got kids, the Forbidden Corner is about a twenty minute drive. Lightwater Valley theme park is within half an hour.
In the cottage you've got a wood burner, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There's wifi. We include all the bedding and towels. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
