Carriage House

It's called Carriage House. It's in West Burton, which is in Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales.

It's one of four cottages on our property. You'll be in our main garden, which is large. There are a couple of ponds and a small river at the bottom. The fishing there is private for guests.

The cottage sleeps six. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and comfortable, but not modern or luxurious. The main things work. The entrance and some internal doors are wide enough for wheelchair access.

West Burton itself is a proper Dales village. It's got a big green and a waterfall, Burton Force, right in the middle. There's no through traffic. There's a village shop and a pub that does food, both about five minutes' walk away.

For the facilities: it's got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on the drive. There's a patio area with a barbecue.

If you like walking, you can get straight onto the fells from the village. Hawes and Leyburn are each about a ten mile drive. Hawes has the Wensleydale Creamery and Leyburn has a market. Bolton Castle and the Black Sheep Brewery are close by too.

For a full day out with children, Lightwater Valley is about half an hour's drive. The Forbidden Corner is even closer.
