Lyndhurst Cottage is in Carlton in Coverdale. It's a detached house that sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's officially a five-star property, which just means everything is finished to a very high standard.
You're right in the Yorkshire Dales. The views from the back of the house are across fields to the moors. It's very quiet.
The walking from the door is excellent. You can head straight up onto the moors. For cycling, the Dales Cycle Way runs past the end of the lane. The whole of Coverdale, Wensleydale and Wharfedale are around you to explore.
The village pub is about a five-minute walk. They serve food and local ales. For something more formal, there's an award-winning restaurant in West Witton, which is about a ten-minute drive.
The house itself is spacious. The ground floor has underfloor heating. There's a large living room with an open fire in an inglenook. The kitchen is well-equipped and opens into a dining area. Patio doors lead from there to the garden. There's also a conservatory with seating and a games chest.
One double bedroom and an en-suite bathroom are on the ground floor, which is useful if stairs are a problem. The other four bedrooms are upstairs. They're all a good size. One has an en-suite shower room, and the main family bathroom has a great view.
The garden is enclosed and landscaped. There's a patio with benches and a barbecue.
Facilities include WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
For days out, Leyburn is about fifteen minutes by car. Richmond and the A1 are about half an hour away. The Yorkshire Dales National Park site has good information for planning walks.
