Lyndhurst Cottage is in Carlton, in Coverdale. It's a detached house set back from the main street. The garden is enclosed and looks out over fields towards the dale.
It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done to a high standard. Everything is fairly new. The underfloor heating on the ground floor is good.
There's a pub in the village, about a five minute walk. They serve food. The nearest shop for groceries is in Leyburn, about six miles away. That's where you'll find a Co-op and a Spar.
The cottage is good for walks straight from the door. You can get up onto the moors. The Dales Cycle Route goes past if you're bringing bikes. For wider exploring, you're right in the middle of Coverdale, Wensleydale, and Wharfedale. Middleham is close by if you want to see the castle or the racehorse gallops.
Leyburn is about ten minutes' drive. It has the market on Fridays and a few shops. Richmond is a bit further, maybe twenty five minutes. That's worth a trip for the castle and the river walk.
Inside, the main living room has a good sized open fire. The conservatory has views and there's a games chest there. The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher. There's a utility room with the washing machine.
One bedroom is on the ground floor with its own en-suite shower room. The other four are upstairs. One of those has an en-suite too. The main family bathroom is also upstairs.
We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a stairgate, a cot, and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. Bicycle storage is available.
