Barbican Cottage is in Middleham, in Wensleydale. It's a terrace cottage, right in the middle of the village.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs. It's a 4 Star place, so it's been done up nicely. It's got things like a walk-in shower and a proper kitchen. The stairs are standard for a cottage.
The main bedroom looks out towards Middleham Castle, which is right behind the house. You can see it from the window. The second bedroom has a single bed with a pull-out trundle underneath, so it can be two singles or a double.
There's a walled garden out the back. It gets the sun. You can park on the cobbles at the front.
Middleham is known for the racehorses. You'll see them being led through the village to the gallops most mornings. There are a few pubs and cafes within walking distance.
For things to do, the castle is the obvious one. It's a ruin you can walk to. Middleham Castle is run by English Heritage. Leyburn is about two miles away and has shops and a market. The Yorkshire Dales National Park website is good for planning walks. You can start right from the village.
Within about half an hour's drive, you've got places like Aysgarth Falls, the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes, and Bolton Castle. The Forbidden Corner, which is a kind of maze garden, is about four miles away.
The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
