Slater's Cottage is in Middleham, right in the village. It's a terraced house, one of a row. Sleeps five, three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The living room has an open fire. You get a basket of logs when you arrive. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. The courtyard garden is south-facing, so it gets the sun in the evening.
Middleham is known for the castle and the racehorses. You'll see the horses going up to the gallops most mornings. The castle is run by English Heritage. There are a couple of pubs and a shop within a few minutes' walk.
You're right in walking country. The Yorkshire Dales National Park starts pretty much at the door. For a drive out, Leyburn is about ten minutes away. Richmond is about twenty minutes, that's got a proper castle and a river. Hawes, where they make Wensleydale cheese, is half an hour.
Facilities: there's a TV, WiFi, parking for one car out front, a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
