Holly Cottage
Holly Cottage is in Bellerby, a small village in Wensleydale. It's a converted old cart store. You're just off the village green here.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. The two bedrooms are upstairs, one double and one with bunk beds for kids. The shower room is downstairs and compact. The shower has a bit of a step into it.
The main thing is the living room. It's got an inglenook fireplace with an open fire, flagstone floors and beams. The stairs from this room up to the bedrooms are the original cottage ones. They're stone, with uneven treads, and there's a rope for a banister. You need to watch your step on them.
There's a small, fully enclosed garden at the back with a lawn, flowers, and a patio with a table. You can use the BBQ there. At the front, there's a south-facing garden that isn't fenced in, but there's a bench to sit on.
Parking is on a shared driveway at the front. There's space for one car for Holly Cottage. The cottage next door, Cherry Tree, parks there too. We can sometimes book both places together for bigger groups if you ask.
Bellerby has a pub that serves real ales but doesn't do food. For shops and places to eat, you need to go to Leyburn. It's a nice market town about a mile and a half away.
For walks, you're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are plenty of footpaths straight from the door. By car, Aysgarth Falls and the ruins at Richmond Castle or Jervaulx Abbey are within half an hour. For something different, the Forbidden Corner is about a 15 minute drive.
In terms of what's there, you've got WiFi, a Smart TV, a washing machine, dishwasher, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
