Holly Cottage is in Bellerby, a small village in Wensleydale. The cottage used to be a cart store. It's made of local stone and sits off the village green. There's a stream that runs through the place.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One room has a double bed, the other has bunk beds. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and has character, but it's not a hotel.
The stairs are the original ones. They're steep and the steps are uneven. There's a rope banister to hold onto. The shower is in a cubicle and there's a deep step to get in and out.
Downstairs is one open room. There's a stone floor and an old inglenook fireplace you can use. Two sofas face the fire and there's a Smart TV. The dining table is at the back. The kitchen has what you need, including a dishwasher and washing machine.
Out the back is an enclosed garden with a picket fence. There's a lawn, a patio with a table and chairs, and a bench. You can use the BBQ. The front garden faces south but isn't enclosed, so you'd need to keep an eye on a dog there. There's space for one car on the shared drive. The cottage next door, Cherry Tree Cottage, has two spaces on the same drive. Both can be booked together if you're in a larger group.
Bellerby has a pub. It serves real ales but doesn't do food. For shops and places to eat, you need to go to Leyburn. It's just over a mile away. It's a proper market town with butchers, cafes, pubs, and a co-op.
You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are footpaths everywhere. For a good walk, Aysgarth Falls is about a 15 minute drive. Castle Bolton is close too. Richmond, with its castle, is about 20 minutes by car. The Forbidden Corner is that strange garden place near Middleham, that's about a 10 minute drive.
In terms of what's there: all bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. WiFi works. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
