Lightfoot House
Lightfoot House is in Redmire, which is a small village just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's a mid-terrace cottage, Grade II listed. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is the fireplace. It's an old inglenook fireplace with a woodburning stove. There are also original beams. The stairs are fairly steep, just to note.
There’s a pub about 200 yards away. The nearest shop is in Leyburn, about five miles away. You can walk straight from the door into the Dales. A popular route goes from Redmire to Aysgarth Falls, which is about a three-mile walk.
Bolton Castle is very close, maybe a ten-minute drive. It’s a proper castle where Mary, Queen of Scots was held. Middleham Castle is nearby too, and you can sometimes see racehorses training on the gallops there from the village square.
Leyburn is the main local town for shops and cafes. Hawes, where the Wensleydale cheese factory is, is about a 20-minute drive. The Forbidden Corner, which is that odd garden with follies and tunnels, is about 15 minutes away by car.
Facilities-wise: it has a woodburner, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s bicycle storage. You can bring up to two dogs.
