Bank Side

This is Bank Side. It's our house in Leyburn, up in Wensleydale. It's a semi-detached cottage on the main road into the market town.

It sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so one's an en-suite. It's a 5 Star place, which just means it's been checked and it's got everything you need. It's not a show home, it's just a comfortable house. The stairs are normal house stairs.

Leyburn is a five-minute walk away. It's a proper market town. There's a Co-op, a butchers, and a really good deli. The pub's about the same distance. Shops and a restaurant are 550 yards.

You can walk from the door straight onto the Shawl, which is a good path with views over the dale. It goes towards Castle Bolton. For a day out, Aysgarth Falls is about a ten-minute drive. Hardraw Force waterfall is a bit further, near Hawes. Middleham Castle is very close.

Richmond is about fifteen minutes by car. It's a nice old town with a castle and a river walk. Hawes is in the other direction, maybe twenty-five minutes. That's where the Wensleydale cheese creamery is. The Wensleydale Railway runs from Leeming Bar to Redmire, if you like that sort of thing.

For facilities: there's parking for two cars on the drive. The garden at the back is enclosed, it's a courtyard with a table. There's a shed you can put bikes in. It has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the main bathroom is upstairs.
