Peartree Cottage is the end terrace of a row on the village green in East Witton. Next to it is The Granary, which is all part of the same property. It sleeps ten between them.
The main cottage is a Grade II listed building from the 1820s. It's been done up to a high standard. Because it's listed and old, the rooms are a good size but the layout is what it is. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner.
There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms spread between the two buildings. One bathroom is a wet room on the ground floor. Two dogs are allowed. The garden is enclosed, which is handy.
The Granary has a games room and a laundry area downstairs, with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. It gives a bit of separation if you want it.
East Witton is a small, quiet village. There are two pubs within a couple of minutes' walk. One is an award-winning gastropub, the other is a 16th-century inn. They're both good.
You're right in the Yorkshire Dales. The village is on footpaths so you can walk straight out onto the lanes and fields. For a proper walk, Aysgarth Falls is about a ten-minute drive. Yorkshire Dales National Park has all the maps and information.
Middleham is close. It's known for horse racing and has the castle ruins. Leyburn is four miles away for shops and a weekly market. For something different, The Forbidden Corner, which is a kind of maze and garden with follies, is a few miles away. English Heritage covers Middleham Castle and other local sites.
Facilities wise, it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner. There's parking on site and an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included.
