Snowdrop Cottage is in Thornton Steward, which is a small hamlet near Masham in North Yorkshire. It's a stone-built terrace cottage. There's a small paved patio area right outside the back door for sitting out. You also get the use of a separate, enclosed garden about a two-minute walk away. It's quiet.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin, and one family bathroom. It has a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The stairs are steep. They're original cottage stairs, so you need to be careful.
Inside, the main room is the living room with a multi-fuel stove. That stove heats the radiators throughout the house, so it's very cosy when it's going. The kitchen is open to the dining area. It has everything you'd need.
The nearest shop is about three and a half miles away in Masham, so you'll want to bring supplies. There's a pub about two and a half miles away.
You can walk straight from the door into the countryside and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Middleham, with its castle and the racing stables, is four miles. Jervaulx Abbey is close by. For a day out, Lightwater Valley theme park is near Ripon, and The Forbidden Corner is about a twenty-minute drive. Brymor's ice cream farm is very popular and just down the road.
Facilities include a washing machine, WiFi, a TV, and all bedding and towels are provided. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
For planning, the Welcome to Yorkshire site is useful, as is the National Trust page for Yorkshire.
