Myton House

Myton House is in Thornton Steward. It's a four-bedroom house that sleeps nine people. It's got a 3 Star rating. The house is straightforward and clean, not a show home.

There are three bathrooms. One is downstairs. The place is wheelchair accessible, with a step-free entrance and a seat in the shower. There's parking on the drive.

Inside, there's a woodburning stove in the living room. It's got a dishwasher and a washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. We can put out a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to three dogs.

The garden is fully enclosed, which is useful with dogs. It's a quiet spot, looking out over fields.

You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. For walking, you can head straight out from the door. The closest bigger places for shops and pubs are Bedale and Leyburn, both about ten minutes away by car.

For a good day out, Masham is about fifteen minutes drive. They've got the Theakston's and Black Sheep breweries there. Richmond is about twenty-five minutes away, it's a proper market town with a castle. The Yorkshire Dales National Park site has all the walking routes and maps. Richmond Castle is worth a look if you're into history.

That's about it. It's a good base if you want to explore this part of the Dales without being right in the middle of a town.
