The cottage is warm and the rooms are comfortable. The lounge is small and has an open fire. The kitchen is separate. The stairs are steep, just so you know.
There's a garden at the front and the back. At the back, you can hear the stream running past. It's very quiet here.
The local pub, The Forester's Arms, is about 200 yards away. They do food and it's got a good reputation. You're right in the National Park, so walking is the main thing. Public footpaths go straight from the door through the dale.
Middleham is four miles away. The castle there is worth a visit. It's a big one. The town is known for its horse racing stables. Leyburn is five miles. It's a market town with shops, a weekly market, and places to eat. The Forbidden Corner is a short drive from there, about 15 minutes.
Further out, within an hour, you've got the city of York, Ripon, Harrogate, and Richmond.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking.
