Starfall
Starfall is the apartment above the craft gallery at Aysgarth Falls. It's just the two of you, and one well-behaved dog.
The view is the main thing. You look right out over the Upper Falls from the big windows in the living room and bedroom. It's quite a spectacle, especially after some rain. You're in the old mill building, so it feels solid.
It's been done up recently. There's an open-plan living area with a small kitchen, a super king bed that can be split into twins if you ask beforehand, and a walk-in shower. It's clean and comfortable. It's got a 4 Star rating.
Access is via some old stone steps outside, then a flight of stairs inside up to the first floor. It's not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
The gallery downstairs is run by the owners. They sell local artists' work and sometimes run courses, which you can book if you're interested. They also do guided stargazing sessions, because it gets properly dark here. The Freeholders' Wood nature reserve nearby does a Planet Trail during the dark sky festivals.
You're right here for the waterfalls. You can walk to the Middle and Lower Falls from the door. There are two pubs in Aysgarth village, both about a ten-minute walk, and they do good food. For supplies, Leyburn has a great deli and Wensleydale creamery isn't far.
You're central for the Dales. Hawes and the Hardraw Force waterfall are about a twenty-minute drive. The Wensleydale Railway runs from Leeming Bar to Redmire. Bolton Castle and Middleham are within half an hour.
