Campanula House

This is Campanula House in Askrigg. It's a stone cottage from the 1600s, right on the village street opposite the church. It's quiet, but you're in the middle of things.

The house sleeps five. There are four bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms, one en-suite to the main bedroom. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's well kept and comfortable. You can bring one dog.

Inside, the kitchen has an old inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. The table's big. There's a separate living room and a small snug with a TV. The stairs are old cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner. Something to be aware of.

Outside is a small enclosed courtyard with a table and chairs. It's private.

In the village, you've got a shop, a cafe, and three pubs all within a couple of minutes' walk. The Yorkshire Dales Brewery is about ten minutes walk away, they have a shop and sometimes a beer garden.

For walking, you can start from the door. The path by the River Ure is lovely, and the Askrigg waterfall walk to Mill Gill is good. For a bigger day out, the Yorkshire Dales National Park site has route ideas. Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle are a short drive. The market towns of Hawes and Leyburn are close by. Richmond, with the castle and river walks, is about half an hour's drive.

The facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a highchair and a stairgate if you need them.
