Lilac Cottage

Lilac Cottage is in Sedbusk. It's a small hamlet, just on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The cottage itself is semi-detached, stone built, from the 1700s. It's not huge, but it's solid.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's an old place so expect low beams and some uneven floors. The stairs are a bit steep. The garden is south-facing and enclosed, which is good if you've got a dog. It looks out over fields. We get red squirrels visiting the bird table quite often.

Hawes is the nearest proper town, about a mile and a half away. It's got shops, a few pubs, a couple of places to eat. The Wensleydale Creamery is there, if you want to see the cheese being made. There's a local pub about half a mile from the cottage.

For walking, you're right in the Dales. You can step out the door and be on a path. Hardraw Force waterfall is close by. For a drive out, the Ribblehead Viaduct is about twenty minutes away. Leyburn is maybe half an hour.

In terms of stuff here: there's a wood burner, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and parking for one car on the drive. It's got WiFi and a TV. We provide bedding and towels. We allow one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
