Red Squirrel Haven is in Snaizeholme, about four miles outside Hawes. It's a detached barn conversion in the valley. It's very quiet and remote.
It sleeps four in two double bedrooms. They're each at opposite ends of the cottage and have their own staircase. There are two bathrooms too, one with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main living space is open plan. There's a wood burner in the sitting area, a farmhouse table, and a kitchen. Patio doors lead out to a decked area. There's a conservatory off the kitchen which is a good spot to watch the squirrels. We leave food out for them and the birds. You'll see roe deer sometimes too.
The property has an enclosed paddock and garden, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. You can bring up to two.
Hawes is the nearest proper town, about a ten-minute drive. There are shops, pubs, and cafes. The Wensleydale Creamery is there if you want to see cheese being made. The nearest pub is about four miles away.
For walks, you're right in it. Aysgarth Falls and Hardraw Force waterfall are both within a 20-minute drive. Bolton Castle is about 25 minutes away. The whole area is good for walking and cycling. There's local fishing if you have a license.
Facilities: parking on site, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, cot and highchair available. Bedding and towels are included. Christmas decorations are put up if you're booking over that period.
