Gardenwell Cottage
This is Gardenwell Cottage in Burtersett. It's a terrace, right in the village. The village is quiet, just a few houses really. You can see a long way down Wensleydale from the front windows and the little seating area outside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. We've done it up but kept the old features, so the rooms are light but it still feels like an old cottage. It's open plan downstairs.
There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. TV, WiFi, washing machine, all that. Bedding and towels are included.
You can walk straight onto the Pennine Way from the door. To get to Hawes, the nearest proper town, it's about twenty minutes on foot across the fields, or a couple of minutes in the car. They've got shops, pubs, and the Wensleydale Creamery there.
Within about half an hour you can drive to places like Aysgarth Falls, Hardraw Force waterfall, Semerwater, and Bolton Castle. For wider planning, the Yorkshire Dales National Park site has good information. The National Trust looks after some of the closest big estates, like Malham.
No pets, I'm afraid.
