Syke Cottage

Syke Cottage is in Bainbridge, right near the green. It's detached. It looks old, and it is, from the 1700s. But it's bigger inside than it looks.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, and three bathrooms which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, just so you know.

There's a main lounge with a wood burner and a smart TV with Netflix. Then there's another little snug with another TV, a Wii, and games. Good if people want to do different things. There's a garden room out the back that we use for eating, and it has the washing machine and things in it. It's a nice light room. The kitchen is fine, you've got everything you need.

Outside, there's a small patio courtyard that gets the sun. It's enclosed. You can fit one medium car on the drive, and there's an electric car charger.

The village is good. There's a shop, a butcher, a bakery, and a pub on the green that does food. Another good restaurant is just at the edge of the village. Hawes is a few miles up the road if you need more shops. The Wensleydale Creamery there is worth a visit.

For walks, you can start from the door. Semerwater and Aysgarth Falls are close by. Bolton Castle is about ten minutes drive. The Yorkshire Dales National Park site has walking maps. For a different day out, the National Trust has Fountains Abbey and Brimham Rocks within about half an hour.

You can bring two dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
