Syke Cottage
Syke Cottage is in Bainbridge, on the village green. It's detached. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy.
The building is 18th century so the walls are thick and the windows are deep. We've tried to keep it comfortable. There's a wood burner in the main living room, and a smaller snug room with a TV and some board games. The kitchen has the usual things, plus an air fryer and a coffee machine. Outside, there's an enclosed patio that gets the sun.
You can park one medium-sized car on the driveway. There's an electric vehicle charger.
The village has what you need. There's a shop, a butcher, a garage, and a tea room. The pub is old and serves food. A good restaurant is just on the edge of the village.
For walks, you can start from the door. Semerwater is two miles away for a swim or a picnic. Hawes is a short drive and has the Wensleydale Creamery. Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle are within half an hour. The roads over to Swaledale, like the Buttertubs pass, are right there if you want a dramatic drive.
We allow up to two dogs. All bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
