Gallivantin Cottage
This is Gallivatin Cottage in Thornton Rust. It's a two-up-two-down stone cottage. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, both have their own bathrooms which is handy.
It's a five star place, which means it's been done up to a high standard. It's comfortable. There's an inglenook fireplace in the living room. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they turn and are a bit steep.
Outside, there's a bit of a patio area at the side. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
The village is quiet. It's just a few houses. The proper shop and a couple of pubs are in Aysgarth, about a five minute drive. They do good food. For a bigger shop, Hawes is about ten minutes away. That's where the Wensleydale Creamery is.
You can walk straight from the door. There are footpaths across the fields to the river. For a proper hike, Penhill is right there. The roads around here are popular with cyclists.
Aysgarth Falls are very close. Bolton Castle and the Forbidden Corner are within a half hour drive. Leyburn is about twenty minutes.
Facilities: it's got a wood burner, wifi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
