Gallivantin Cottage is in Thornton Rust. It's a small, quiet village in Wensleydale, up in the Yorkshire Dales.
The cottage is stone-built and sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom. It's been done up to a high standard. The living room has a big stone fireplace.
Outside, there's a little sitting area at the side of the house. It's a bit sheltered.
The village is quiet. The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in Aysgarth. They have a garage with a country store and a couple of pubs. Leyburn is a bit further and has a good deli. For cheese, the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes is the place to go. Hawes is a proper market town with local shops.
You can walk straight from the cottage. The River Ure and some fields are nearby. For a bigger walk, Penhill is there if you want a climb. The roads around here are popular with cyclists.
You're well placed for days out. Aysgarth Falls are close. Bolton Castle is about a fifteen minute drive. The Forbidden Corner, which is a strange sort of garden with follies, is around twenty minutes away. It's good for kids.
The cottage has a woodburning stove, wifi, a washing machine, and a TV. All bedding and towels are included. It's a luxury-rated property, so everything should be in good order. No pets.
