Corner House

Corner House is in Grinton, right opposite the pub and the church. It's a double-fronted stone cottage, semi-detached. It sleeps five, has three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The cottage is comfortable, not huge. There are beams and period fireplaces. It's warm, with modern electric radiators you can control from your phone. The stairs are standard cottage stairs.

There's a porch for boots and coats. You can dry the dog off in there too. The living room has a multi-fuel stove. One window looks at the church, the other faces Fremington Edge. There's a TV and a DVD player.

Out front is an enclosed garden. It's a good spot for a coffee. There's a stream behind the house that runs down to the River Swale, about 200 yards away. The Coast to Coast path runs along there.

The pub is about 50 yards away. It's a 15th-century coaching house, popular with walkers. They do food and local ales. Reeth village is a walk away, maybe 20 minutes. They have a green, cafes, and more pubs.

For cyclists, the Dales Bike Centre is a short walk up the road. They hire bikes and have a cafe. The Tour de Yorkshire came past the house a few years ago.

Within half an hour's drive you've got Richmond, with its castle and theatre. There's also Easby Abbey, Aysgarth Falls, and the Bowes Museum. Hardraw Force is a bit further, but worth it.

In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a woodburner. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
