This is Abraham's Cottage in Langthwaite. It's a stone semi-detached place right on the village green. The view from the front is over the green and then fields.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own en-suite shower room, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been finished to a high standard. Everything's new and works properly.
The kitchen is modern, with a slate floor that's heated. There's a wood burner in the living room. Outside, there's a private courtyard with a table.
Langthwaite is quiet. There are two pubs in walking distance. The Red Lion is about 500 yards away. The shop is in Reeth, three miles down the road.
For walking, you're right in the middle of it. You can follow the river for a gentle walk or head up onto the moors. The Yorkshire Dales National Park site has walking routes. Cyclists use the area a lot, and there's the Dales Bike Centre nearby for hire.
Reeth is three miles away. It has a couple of cafes, a shop, and a post office. Richmond is about half an hour's drive. It has a castle and a good market. In the other direction, Barnard Castle is similar distance, with the Bowes Museum. If you drive over into Wensleydale, Hawes has the Wensleydale Creamery.
The Tan Hill Inn, which is the highest pub in England, is about eight miles up the valley. The road is steep.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
