Deer Park Barn

Deer Park Barn is on the edge of Reeth in Swaledale. It's a modern conversion, done in 2021. It's very comfortable, but the main thing is the view. You get a full panoramic look over the dale from the front. It's just you and the fields up there.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both are kingsize and both have their own shower room. The shower pressure is good. There's underfloor heating throughout, so it's always warm underfoot. The wood burner is nice but you probably won't need it.

The kitchen is new and well-equipped. Dishwasher, washing machine, that sort of thing. There's a proper electric vehicle charger on the drive. The Wi-Fi is reliable.

You're up a single-track lane, so it's quiet. The patio out front is the best spot. You can sit there with a drink and just look at the view. That's really what the place is for.

Reeth is about three miles down the hill. It's a proper Dales market town. There's a couple of pubs, a village green, shops and a cafe. The farmers market is on Fridays. Gunnerside and other little villages are closer if you just want a walk and a pint.

For walking, you can start right from the door. The footpaths go straight out into Swaledale and connect to the wider network. The Yorkshire Dales National Park site has all the maps and routes. For cycling, it's the same. The roads and trails are right there, but they're hilly. Good if you're up for it.

Within half an hour you can drive to places like the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes, or Richmond to see the castle. Richmond Castle is English Heritage. The Forbidden Corner up near Middleham is a bit odd, but kids seem to like it. It's about a 40-minute drive.

It's a no-pets property. All bedding and towels are included. There's parking for two cars easily.
