York House
York House is in Hudswell, a small village in Swaledale. It's a detached stone house. I built it myself, so it's sturdy and everything works how it should.
It sleeps eleven. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. Some bedrooms have their own shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a big, comfortable house rather than a fussy one.
The main thing is the view. It looks right out over the Swale Valley. There's a good-sized lawned garden that's fully enclosed. Inside, there's a living room with a wood burner, a big kitchen with a dining area, and a small snug room if people want to spread out.
Hudswell itself is quiet. There's a pub about 300 yards away. It's a community pub, run by the villagers. They serve food. The nearest proper shop is in Richmond.
Richmond is two miles down the road. It's an old market town with a castle. Good for a wander and there are nice walks by the river. For a bigger day out, the whole of the Yorkshire Dales is on your doorstep. The North York Moors aren't far either.
You can get to the coast in under an hour. Places like Whitby or Scarborough. York is about an hour's drive for a city day. There are historic sites like Fountains Abbey within a 30 minute drive.
As for facilities, it's got what you'd need. Wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Parking for a few cars on the drive. Bicycle storage if you bring them. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
