York House is in Hudswell, a little village just outside Richmond in North Yorkshire. It's a detached stone house I built a few years ago. It's got five bedrooms and sleeps up to eleven people. There are three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main living room has a wood burner. There's a bigger kitchen and dining area, and a smaller snug room too. The garden is enclosed and looks out over the Swale Valley. The views are good.
There's a village shop and a pub about 300 yards down the lane. The pub is community-run. It serves food. Richmond is two miles away for bigger shops and more places to eat.
The house is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You can walk straight out into the dale from the door. For birdwatching or different scenery, the North York Moors are about a half hour drive.
If you're driving out for the day, the coast at Whitby or Scarborough is about an hour. The city of York is just over an hour away. Rievaulx Abbey and Fountains Abbey are both within 45 minutes for history.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a dishwasher, washing machine, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs.
