Friar's Corner

Friar's Corner is my place in Richmond. It's right in the town, just off the market square. The entrance is on Friar's Wynd, which is a little lane.

It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, both have their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's tidy and well looked after.

The layout is a bit unusual. You come in to the kitchen and living area on the ground floor. The stairs go up to the bedrooms. Both bedrooms are ensuite, which is handy. The main bedroom is quite big and has a shower. The second bedroom is smaller and has a bath with a shower over it.

You can walk to everything. The market square, shops, pubs, and cafes are all about a minute's walk away. The Georgian Theatre is literally opposite. It's a working theatre, so you might hear people coming out after a show, but it's usually quiet by 11.

For a nice walk, you can go down to the River Swale. The station area has been done up with a cinema, a bakery, and places to eat. The indoor swimming pool is there too.

Richmond is good for seeing the Dales. You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Walking routes like the Coast to Coast path go through the town. Places like Leyburn, Hawes, and Reeth are a short drive away.

For a day out, Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum are about half an hour's drive. Durham is about 45 minutes. York is about an hour.

Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and parking for one car on site. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
