Pinfold Cottage is in Richmond, on a street just off the market square. It's a small semi-detached stone cottage. It's Grade II listed so the walls are thick and the windows are deep-set. You get the feel of the old building, but it's been updated inside.
It sleeps five. There are three bedrooms upstairs: a double, a twin, and a smaller single room. There's one bathroom with a shower. The stairs are quite steep, as you'd expect. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
You can leave the car on the street out front. The courtyard garden is enclosed and paved, a quiet spot with a table and chairs.
You're right in the middle of things here. The market square, pubs, shops, and a bakery are all about a minute's walk away. The Georgian Theatre is directly opposite. Richmond Castle is a five-minute walk through the square.
For walks, you can pick up the river path easily. The Station is a place just down the hill by the river. It's got a cinema, a cafe, an art gallery, and a swimming pool. The Coast to Coast path goes past it.
The cottage is at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Swaledale and Wensleydale are about a twenty or thirty minute drive. The North York Moors are in the other direction, maybe forty minutes. For a good day out, you could drive over the Buttertubs Pass to Hawes for the Wensleydale Creamery, or to Aysgarth Falls.
Facilities: there's a wood burner, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. All bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
