The Flowing River
The Flowing River is a ground-floor apartment in Backbarrow. It's right on the bank of the River Leven. You can hear the water from inside.
It sleeps two. One bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. Everything is on one level.
The living area is open plan. There's a decent kitchen if you want to cook. The sofa faces the windows so you can watch the river. The bedroom is quiet.
The village is small and quiet. The Whitewater Hotel is a short walk if you want a drink or a meal. The main thing here is the river and the walking. You can step out the door and be on a path.
It's a good spot for getting around. The Lakeside and Haverthwaite steam railway is just down the road. Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. Lake Windermere is about ten minutes by car. You can get the steamer boats from there. Ulverston is fifteen minutes away, it's a proper market town with shops and pubs.
For walking, you've got options right from the door. High Dam and Finsthwaite Heights are good walks. The Lake District National Park authority site has maps and routes.
