The Owl Nest

The Owl Nest is in Newby Bridge. It’s part of The Swan hotel estate. You get your own cottage, but you can use the hotel spa and restaurant if you want to.

It sleeps six. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. Two are en-suite. There’s a kingsize, another kingsize, then a bunk room with a TV and a PlayStation for kids. It’s a 5 Star place, so it’s well kitted out and everything’s in good order.

Inside, there’s a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is big and has a dining table and a breakfast nook. Outside, there’s a private terrace with an outdoor fireplace and a hot tub.

For facilities, it’s all there: dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. There’s on site parking and an electric vehicle charger. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs.

Location wise, you’re right at the bottom of Windermere. The hotel pub is on site. For a day out, you can walk to the lakeside and get on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway steam train, which goes to the aquarium. Windermere town and Bowness are about a ten minute drive. Windermere Lake Cruises start from there.

Cartmel, with its priory and the racecourse, is ten minutes away. Holker Hall is also close. You're well placed for the southern lakes and not far from the coast. Coniston and Grizedale Forest are within half an hour.

The property can be booked with three others nearby if you’re a bigger group.
