The place is called On The Beach, East Yardley House. It's in Downderry, Cornwall. The name tells you the main thing: it's right on the beach. Adjoining the shingle, basically. The sea views are the whole point.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. Two bathrooms. One double bedroom is on the ground floor, which is handy. The master bedroom upstairs has its own little balcony. Some of the beds can be twins or doubles, you just need to ask in advance. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped.
The living area is open plan. Doors lead out to a private terrace looking straight at the sea. The gardens are shared with the other house on the estate, West Yardley, but they're big. There's plenty of space. You get your own garden furniture, a barbecue, and a fire pit. There's a useful storage shed for bikes or beach gear.
There's an outside shower and a dog washing station. You can bring up to three dogs. The beach here is dog-friendly all year.
In the shared grounds there's a beach shack with a wood burner, and a few other seating spots. The other house sleeps eleven, so the two can be booked together for bigger groups.
The village is a few minutes' walk. There's a shop, a pub, a restaurant, and a coffee shop. You don't need to drive for basics.
For a longer walk, you can follow the coastal path east towards Seaton or west towards Portwrinkle. Looe is about a fifteen-minute drive. Polperro is a bit further, maybe twenty-five minutes. It's a very pretty old fishing village. The National Trust South Cornwall page has good information on the local coastline. The Cornwall Council rights of way site is useful for walkers.
The facilities are all listed, but the main things are: parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, bedding and towels included. There's a cot and highchair. It's got wheelchair access into the property and a wet room shower with grab rails. There's also an electric vehicle charger.
