This is Beachside, West Yardley House. It's in Downderry, Cornwall. It sleeps eleven. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms.
The place is part of a private estate with gardens. It's next to the beach, a dog-friendly one. You can see the sea from inside. It feels quite separate, even though it's part of a bigger property.
The stairs are normal house stairs, not cottage ones, so they're fine. There’s a bedroom and shower room on the ground floor. The main living area is open plan. The furniture is straightforward, comfortable stuff. It’s a 4 Star, so it’s well-equipped and in good order.
You get your own bit of garden with a patio and a BBQ. There's an outside shower and a tap for washing dogs or sand off kids. There's also a beach shack in the shared gardens with a wood burner inside.
The beach is about 50 yards away. You can get to it directly from the grounds. There’s a pub about a hundred yards up the road and a small shop a bit further.
Looe is about a fifteen-minute drive. Polperro is a bit further, maybe twenty-five minutes. They're the proper old Cornish fishing villages you see in pictures. The South West Coast Path goes right past, so you can walk from the door.
As for facilities: it's got everything on the list. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s on-site parking and an electric vehicle charger if you need it. It's set up for families – cot, highchair, stairgate are here. You can bring up to three dogs.
The other house on the estate, East Yardley House, can be booked together with this one if you've got a bigger group.
