Lapwing

This is Lapwing. It's part of a group of converted barns called Gibraltar Barns, set on the edge of a farm near Skegness. It's a semi-detached place, so you have your own neighbours. You get your own garden and a hot tub.

The barn sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower, no bath. The whole place is open plan downstairs. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's a high standard, well kitted out.

You can bring one dog. There's an electric vehicle charger, off-road parking, and all the usual things like a dishwasher, wifi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included.

The location is quiet. You can walk straight out from the door onto farm tracks and footpaths. Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve is just down the road, less than a mile. It's good for birdwatching and long beach walks. The sea is about a mile away.

Skegness itself is a couple of miles up the coast. It's a proper traditional seaside town with all that goes with it: amusements, a pier, donkey rides on the beach. There's a big beach, a funfair, and banger racing at the stadium.

If you want a break from the coast, the Lincolnshire Wolds are about half an hour's drive inland. It's nice driving country. Lincoln, with its cathedral and castle, is about 45 minutes away.

Locally, there's a pub and a restaurant a mile away. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half. Useful links for planning: Visit Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
