The Hideaway
The Hideaway is a ground-floor apartment in Haltwhistle. It’s for two people. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's been finished to a good standard. The whole place is on one level.
It's one bedroom with a king-size bed. The shower room is modern. The main room is open plan, so the kitchen, living area and dining space are all together. There's a TV and a washing machine. The kitchen has a dishwasher.
Outside, there’s a small, enclosed patio area with a couple of chairs. It’s private. You can bring one dog.
Haltwhistle calls itself the 'Centre of Britain'. There’s a Co-op, a few pubs that do food, and some takeaways all within a few minutes’ walk.
Hadrian’s Wall is less than a mile away. You can walk to it from here. The sections at Steel Rigg and Cawfields are about a 20 minute drive and are good for a proper walk. The National Trust looks after a lot of it.
If you drive, Hexham is about 20 minutes. It has a big abbey and some shops. Corbridge is similar. For the coast, Alnwick Castle and Bamburgh are just under an hour. Kielder Water and Forest is about 50 minutes in the other direction. Newcastle city centre is about 45 minutes.
The apartment can be booked with the house next door if you’re a group of four and want to stay separately but nearby.
