The Old Cottage
The Old Cottage is in Lambley, a village in the North Pennines. It's a two-up-two-down sort of place. Sleeps four, in two bedrooms.
You've got two bathrooms, which is handy. The main bedroom has its own shower room. The second bedroom has twin beds. The stairs are original, so they're steep and a bit narrow.
The kitchen has what you need, fridge, oven, dishwasher. There's a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The living room has a wood burning stove. We leave you some logs to get started. There's a smart TV. The WiFi usually works fine.
Out the back is a small, enclosed garden. It's patio with seating, and it looks out over fields. Good spot for a coffee in the morning.
Lambley is quiet. The village church is right across the road. The nearest pub is about a mile away in Slaggyford. For a shop, you'll need to drive to Alston, which is about four miles.
If you like walking, you're right in it. The North Pennines AONB site has maps. Hadrian's Wall is about a 25-minute drive. English Heritage manage a lot of the sites there. Hexham is maybe 20 minutes by car, they've got an abbey and a market.
We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a cot, highchair, and a stairgate here if you're bringing little ones. All the bedding and towels are included. Everything's there for you.
