The Old Drapery is an apartment above the shops on Haltwhistle's main street. It used to be a draper's shop a long time ago. It's on the second and third floor, so there are stairs.
It's for two people. One bedroom, which is up a little staircase from the living area. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, with WiFi and a washing machine.
You're right in the middle of town. There's a Co-op across the road, and a few pubs and cafes within a minute's walk. The George Hotel does pub food.
You can walk to the train station in about five minutes. Trains go to Newcastle and to Carlisle.
For getting out, it's a very good spot. Hadrian's Wall is basically on the doorstep. You can drive to the Roman Army Museum or Vindolanda in a few minutes. The Northumberland National Park starts just outside town. If you want to walk part of the Wall, Haltwhistle is a central place to start.
Within half an hour you can drive to Kielder Water for the forest and the dam. Hexham is about twenty minutes away for a bigger town. You can get to the coast, like to Seahouses, in under an hour.
