The Old Drapery is an apartment on the second and third floor of an old shop building in Haltwhistle. It sleeps two. There's one bedroom up in a little galleried bit above the living area, and a modern shower room.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. You've got a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a decent kitchen. Bedding and towels are there.
The stairs inside the apartment are quite steep. They're the original building stairs. Just something to be aware of.
You're right in the middle of the town. There are shops, a couple of pubs, and cafes a few steps from the front door. It's handy.
For history, you're well placed. Hadrian's Wall is about two miles away. The Northumberland National Park starts there too. The town itself claims to be the geographical centre of Britain.
Within half an hour you can drive to the Roman forts at Vindolanda or Housesteads. Carlisle is about half an hour south. Heading east, you can get to Hexham or Corbridge in under 30 minutes.
If you want to go further, the Northumberland coast, like Seahouses or Bamburgh, is about an hour's drive. Kielder Water is to the north, also about an hour. Newcastle is just over an hour to the east.
There's no garden, but you don't really need one with everything on the doorstep. No pets.
