The Bunker
The Bunker is in Henshaw, near Hadrian's Wall. It's a detached building, converted properly in 2022. It's a 5 Star place, so everything works and feels new. It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom.
You come in at the back into a kitchen diner. Steps go down to the main living space. The whole front wall is glass, looking straight out at the Wall and Steel Rigg. The view is the main thing. It's very light. There's a recliner sofa and a big TV. Bifold doors open to the garden.
The garden has a hot tub and a sunken fire pit. You can use the hot tub year-round. The night skies here are very dark, good for seeing stars.
It's a good spot for walking. Vindolanda Roman Fort and The Sill are a short walk. Sycamore Gap is on the Hadrian's Wall Path, which is right there. The Twice Brewed Inn is about 350 yards away for food and a drink.
Hexham is the nearest proper town, about 15 minutes by car. It has an abbey, shops, and places to eat. Corbridge is a bit further, another nice village with a river.
You're well placed for Northumberland National Park and the coast. Kielder is about 40 minutes. The Northumberland coast, like Seahouses, is under an hour. The Scottish Borders and the Lake District are both about an hour's drive if you want a long day out.
Facilities: parking for one car, an electric vehicle charger, bike storage, WiFi, and a shower. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed. It can be booked with the house next door if you're a bigger group.
