Hadrians Garden Villa is in Henshaw, just off the A69. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. That's handy. There's parking on the drive.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's very clean and well looked after, comfortable rather than luxurious.
The main thing is the view. It looks out over the Tyne Valley towards the Cumbrian fells. Because it's in the Northumberland National Park, there's almost no light pollution. On a clear night, you can see so many stars from the patio.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The floor is oak. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can bring two dogs.
You're right on the edge of Hadrian's Wall country. Housesteads Fort and Vindolanda are a short drive away. The Northumberland National Park site has good walking information. The English Heritage pages are useful for the Wall itself.
Hexham is about ten miles. It's a nice market town with an abbey, shops and places to eat. Corbridge is a bit closer, with more riverside walks. For a bigger trip, the Lake District or the Scottish borders are about an hour's drive.
There's a local pub about a mile and a half away. A garage with a shop is half a mile. The garden has a patio, seating and a summerhouse. There's storage if you bring bikes.
