The Reivers Retreat is a one bedroom flat on the ground floor in Haltwhistle. It’s in an old building that used to be a draper’s shop. The living area is open plan. It’s got a 4 Star rating.
It sleeps two. One double bed, one shower room. You can bring one dog. There's a washing machine and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included.
You’re right in the middle of the town. Shops and places to eat are a few steps away. The flat is on the street, so you'll hear some town noise during the day.
Location is the main thing here. Haltwhistle calls itself the geographic centre of Britain. You're about two miles from Hadrian's Wall and the edge of the Northumberland National Park. It’s a very good spot for walking. The River South Tyne is nearby for fishing.
Within half an hour's drive you’ve got a lot. Carlisle is about half an hour south. Kielder Water and Forest Park is to the north, maybe 25 minutes by car. The landscapes around here are good. The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is to the south.
If you want to go further, the Northumberland coast with places like Bamburgh is about an hour's drive east. Newcastle is about 45 minutes. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are just over an hour away.
