This is Old Brewery Coach House in Melkridge. It's a detached stone building, a proper old coach house. You're next to our house but it's very quiet here.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It has a four star rating. There's a washing machine and parking right outside. You can bring one dog. The garden is enclosed and there's a barbecue.
The view is what people come for. It looks straight out over the Tyne Valley. Fields, trees, no other houses in sight.
The stairs up to the bedroom are steep. It's a listed building so we can't change them. Just something to be aware of.
Hadrian's Wall is about a mile away. The National Trust look after a lot of it. Hexham is twelve miles east. It's a nice market town with an abbey and shops. Newcastle is about thirty minutes by car if you want a city day.
You're close to the Cumbrian border. Carlisle is twenty five miles west. Kielder Water and the forest drive are within half an hour. The Northumberland coast, like Craster and Alnwick, is about an hour's drive. I usually send a list of good pubs when you book.
We have another cottage here, the Old Brewery Cottage. You can book them together if you're a larger group. But for two, this place is spot on.
