Huntercrook Lodge
Huntercrook Lodge is on a farm near Henshaw in Northumberland. It's ours, we live nearby. The main thing is the view. It's high up and you can see for miles over the Tyne Valley. It’s quiet.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, all with their own bathroom. The living room and kitchen are upstairs to make the most of the view. The bedrooms are on the ground floor. They all have doors that open straight onto the decking.
There’s a big deck with a hot tub. The hot tub is sunken into the deck. You can sit in it and look out at the valley. There’s a pond with a fountain, and our sheep are usually in the next field.
Inside, it’s comfortable. There’s a big TV with Netflix, and the kitchen has a proper range cooker. We leave a welcome hamper with some basics and a cake for you.
You’re on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Hadrian’s Wall is very close. You can walk to Sycamore Gap from some car parks, or visit Vindolanda. Hexham and Corbridge are nice market towns about twenty minutes away for shops and pubs.
The village of Bardon Mill is five minutes down the road. It has a small shop and a train station. You can get to Newcastle or Carlisle in under an hour on the train.
For facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There’s WiFi, parking for a few cars, and a barbecue. No pets, I’m afraid.
