Huntercrook Lodge
Huntercrook Lodge is up near Henshaw, overlooking the Tyne Valley. It's a single lodge, not attached to anything else, so you've got the space to yourselves.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. All four have their own en-suite bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means everything is very well presented and pretty high spec.
The living area is upstairs. They've done it that way to make the most of the views. Big windows, a balcony outside. The kitchen is up there too, with a gas range. There's a separate little bar area with a fridge. Downstairs, each bedroom has patio doors straight out onto the decking.
Outside, there's a deck with a sunken hot tub facing the valley. The garden is big and slopes down to a pond. You'll see sheep in the field next door, and chickens and ducks wandering about.
It's dark here at night. You can see a lot of stars.
You're right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Hadrian's Wall is very close. You can walk to Sycamore Gap from some car parks. Vindolanda Roman Fort is a short drive. Hexham and Corbridge are nice market towns for a wander and a coffee.
For facilities, it's got pretty much everything: WiFi, smart TV, parking, bedding and towels. The kitchen is fully stocked. There's a BBQ. No pets allowed.
