The Old Farmhouse is in Settlingstones, near Hexham. It's on a working farm, so you're surrounded by fields. The views are big and open.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, both with walk-in showers. Everything is on the ground floor, which is good if stairs are a problem. The main room has big windows looking out over the land, and there's a deck outside with a table.
It's a 4 Star place. It's been done up, so it's comfortable and clean. It doesn't feel old-fashioned inside. You get the usual things: WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs.
There's another cottage on the same farm, the Grindon Cartshed. You can book them together if you've got a bigger group.
For getting out, you're right in the middle of it. Hadrian's Wall is on your doorstep. Hexham is about ten minutes by car, it's got the abbey and shops. All of Northumberland's coast, like Bamburgh Castle, is within an hour. The Northumberland National Park is even closer.
