Grindon Cartshed is a converted barn on a farm near Settlingstones. It’s up on a rise, so the view is over fields and hills. It’s very quiet up here.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, each with its own shower room. That’s handy with a full house. The main room has big windows, so it’s light. There’s a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.
Outside, there’s a patio with a table and some garden space. Parking is right outside. The WiFi works.
You’re in the Northumberland National Park straight away. For a walk from the door, you can head out onto the moors. Hadrian’s Wall is about a 15-minute drive. Housesteads Roman Fort is the main site there.
Hexham is roughly 20 minutes by car. It’s a nice market town with shops and places to eat. Kielder Water is about half an hour away if you want to go cycling or stargazing.
It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s been done to a good standard. We allow two dogs. If you’re coming with a bigger group, you can book it together with The Old Farmhouse next door.
