Fern Cottage is in West End Town, near Bardon Mill. It's a one bedroom cottage, sleeps two. It's a 4 Star rating. The place is on one level, so there are no stairs inside.
The open plan kitchen and living room is small but it works. The multi fuel stove is good. There's a bench out the front for two people. Parking is on site.
The cottage is wheelchair accessible at the entrance, but you'd need to check the full details for the rest of the layout if that's important.
You're straight onto Barcombe Fell from the door. It's a good walk up there for the views. The village of Bardon Mill is close, and you're near the A69 for getting about. There's a train station a few minutes away, with services every couple of hours to Newcastle or Carlisle.
A shop is about a mile and a half away. There's a pub serving food a mile away.
You're in a good spot for Hadrian's Wall. Vindolanda is very close, that's the Roman fort where they found the famous wooden writing tablets. Allen Banks, which is a National Trust wooded valley, is a short drive. The wider Northumberland National Park is on the doorstep.
