Bardon Mill village is close and has a train station on the Newcastle to Carlisle line. Haydon Bridge is about four miles east for shops. Haltwhistle is a bit further and has more facilities, including a sports centre and an outdoor pool. They call it the centre of Britain.
You're well placed for history. The Roman fort at Vindolanda is a short drive away. Hadrian's Wall is all along here. Allen Banks, which is a National Trust valley, is also nearby. There's a local pub about a mile away.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. One well-behaved pet is allowed.
