Granary Cottage is in Melkridge, Northumberland. It’s one of five holiday cottages on the same bit of land, but you’ve got your own space. The view out the back is just fields and sky, nothing in the way. You can see for miles.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean, not luxury. The patio doors from the lounge lead out to your own patio area. It’s a good spot to sit out.
We’ve tried to keep it eco-friendly where we can. You can bring up to two dogs. There’s a wild grass meadow for them and a big field opposite for a run.
It’s about a mile from Hadrian’s Wall. You’re right in the middle of it all, really. It’s part of the Northumberland National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Good if you want to walk. Useful links for planning: Northumberland National Park and English Heritage for Hadrian's Wall.
Within about half an hour you can get to Housesteads Roman Fort, Vindolanda, and Hexham. Kielder Water is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes.
Facilities are what you’d expect: TV, washing machine, parking right there. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. All the bedding is included.
