Old Brewery Cottage is here in Melkridge. It's a converted barn, semi-detached, next to our house. It's Grade II listed, so it's old – originally from the 1800s. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. One of the bathrooms and a bedroom are on the ground floor. The stairs are fine, just normal stairs.
The main thing is the view. It looks out over the Tyne Valley. You can sit in the enclosed garden and just look at it. There's a patio area with a barbecue.
Inside, it's got what you'd need: a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, TV. Towels and bedding are included. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones. You can bring up to two dogs.
Location-wise, Hexham is about twelve miles east. It's a nice market town with a big abbey and shops. Newcastle is about half an hour's drive if you want a city day. Carlisle is roughly twenty-five miles west, so the Lakes are within reach for a trip.
You're right in the middle of Hadrian's Wall country here. It's a good base for walking. The Northumberland National Park and the coast are both about a thirty minute drive. There's a local golf course.
If you need space for more people, we also have the Old Brewery Coach House next door. You can book them together.
