Tackroom Cottage is in Melkridge, Northumberland. It's a single-storey cottage, one of four here on the farm. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious.
The main thing is the view. The living room has full-length glass doors that look straight out over open fields. It's very quiet. You get a private patio area to sit out.
It's about a mile from Hadrian's Wall. You can walk to it from here across the fields. There's a big wild grass meadow opposite the cottage, which is good if you have dogs. We take up to two.
For a day out, Hexham is about a twenty-minute drive. They've got the abbey and a market. Haltwhistle is closer, maybe ten minutes, for shops and pubs. The Northumberland National Park authority has good information for walking: Northumberland National Park. The English Heritage site for the Wall is useful: English Heritage Hadrian's Wall.
Facilities are what you'd expect. Washing machine, TV, parking right outside. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
The other cottages here can be booked together if you're coming with a larger group.
