Vallum Villa
Vallum Villa is in Henshaw, Northumberland. It's a detached cottage right near Hadrian's Wall and Steel Rigg. We finished a full renovation in 2023, so everything is new.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. You get two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been checked for quality and has things like the EV charger and the hot tub.
The main bedroom has a glass wall looking out over the fields. The stairs up to it are open-tread, so they might not suit very small children. There's a wood burner in the kitchen and dining area, with bi-fold doors that open onto the deck.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden and a separate garden room with an eight-person hot tub. It's very dark here at night, so the star gazing is good.
You're right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The Pennine Way and Hadrian's Wall Path are on the doorstep. A local pub, the Twice Brewed Inn, is about a five-minute walk. They do food and have their own brewery.
For Roman history, Vindolanda Fort is a few minutes' drive. Sycamore Gap and The Sill are also close by. Hexham and Corbridge are nice market towns, each about a 20-minute drive. The coast, like Druridge Bay, is about 40 minutes. Kielder Water is around half an hour away.
Facilities: it has the hot tub, wood burner, EV charger, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's a washing machine.
