Burn Lodge

Burn Lodge is a wooden cabin just outside Haltwhistle in Northumberland. It's next to our house, but it's detached and you have your own space. It's for two people.

Inside it's open plan. There's a kitchen area, a sofa, and a wood burning stove. The bedroom is at the back with a TV. There's a separate shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well equipped.

Outside there's a veranda with seating. It faces the fields so it's quiet. You get your own parking spot.

Haltwhistle is a short walk away. It's a small town with shops, a few pubs, and places to eat. There's a leisure centre with an outdoor pool. The train station is there if you want to get to Newcastle or Carlisle without driving.

You're right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park here. Hadrian's Wall is literally on the doorstep. You can walk to parts of it. Housesteads Roman Fort and Vindolanda are a short drive away and are well worth a visit.

Within about half an hour you can be in Hexham, or out onto the wider stretches of the National Park for walking. Kielder Water is also in that sort of range if you like cycling or water sports.

For facilities, it has what you'd expect: the wood burner, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
