Glendale Mews is a one-bedroom cottage for two. It's detached and on one level, so everything's on the ground floor. There's a private patio garden area out the front.
The owners live on site in the farmhouse. You share over 11 acres of woodland and grounds with the other cottage. There's a picnic and play area with a log cabin and a big BBQ. You can also book the indoor heated swimming pool for private sessions, which is handy.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible and has a walk-in shower.
You're right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Hadrian's Wall is within walking distance. The closest bits are Walltown Craggs and Cawfields, which are some of the best views. A bit further along the road you've got the Roman forts at Vindolanda and Housesteads, and Sycamore Gap.
The location is in an International Dark Skies Park, so the night sky is very clear if you're lucky with the weather.
Within about half an hour's drive you can get to Kielder Forest and its reservoir. Hexham is about 25 minutes south. Carlisle and the edge of the Lake District are about 45 minutes west. Newcastle is around an hour's drive east.
There's a shop and a pub in Haltwhistle, which is about a mile and a half away. The owners can sometimes give you a lift to the local Roman Army Museum or Cawfields from the cottage if you need it.
You can bring one dog. There's on-site parking and bike storage.
